Introducing Torticollis Treatment for Infants

Torticollis, otherwise known as a twisted neck, may occur in infants at birth.  Untreated, torticollis can cause headaches, limited range of motion, neck pain, stiffness or swelling and cause the head to tilt to one side.

Physical Therapy can be very helpful for infants diagnosed with torticollis.  Therapists at MORC Rehab Services are trained in techniques to help ease the symptoms of torticollis.  Passive stretching and positioning are common treatments used in infants and small children. These treatments are often successful, especially if started within 3 months of birth.

Our therapists can show parents proper stretching techniques and ways to position the infant during eating, sleeping and playing to help stretch muscles.

If your child has been diagnosed with torticollis, call MORC Rehab Services today!
